On the 5th August, 2026, the MCE, Hon. Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo with his Administration and Assembly Members conducted the Commissioning of the OHENENKWANTA CHPS COMPOUND, Ohenenkwanta Mechanized Borehole, ODUMASI NEWTOWN 12- 14 SEATER WC TOILET FACILITY powered by a MECHANICAL BOREHOLE and KONONGO HABITAT HEALTH

On August 5, 2026, the Asante Akyem Central Municipal Assembly officially commissioned the Ohenenkwanta CHPS Compound, the Konongo Habitat Health Centre, a mechanized borehole, and a community toilet facility (built as a 12- to 14-seater WC facility) to boost local health and sanitation.

Commissioned Facilities

Ohenenkwanta CHPS Compound: A new community-based health facility to improve maternal care and emergency responses.

Konongo Habitat Health Centre: An expanded local health access point.

Mechanized Boreholes: Installed to supply reliable clean water to the health facilities and community.

WC Toilet Facility: A modern 12- to 14-seater water closet facility powered by the mechanical borehole system to improve sanitation standards.

The MCE handed over the completed projects and advised that the facilities should be put to good use by ensuring maintenence culture.
